I designed a beautiful boho office that my chronically ill body couldn’t survive in. Rattan chair, afternoon glare, neck strain from a gallery wall placed too high. Three weeks in, I started over — this time from the inside out. This post is the office I built second: ergonomic where it needs to be, boho in its bones, and actually livable for a body managing chronic pain every single day.

For a long time the kitchen assumed she could stand indefinitely, reach freely, grip without consideration.
